QuickBeATs: Copying Playlists from iTunes to MusicBee and vice versa

bees!
Musicbee is a music management program similar to iTunes. You can add and remove music from the library, edit ID3 tags, create playlists and more. I've been using it as an alternative to iTunes (though it is still my main music player) because of its integration on Windows 10, particularly showing a next music bubble after the current song ends (and yes, that's one of the reasons I use it). But with iTunes still my main player, I create playlists via the app. Syncing the playlist to MusicBee is easy on the first setup, but once you update your playlist on iTunes (adding/removing songs), the new songs will not update automatically to the former. Here is how to copy them manually from iTunes to MusicBee (and vice versa).

To copy from MusicBee to iTunes

  • Open both applications
  • Drag the playlist you want to copy from MusicBee to iTunes, and drop it on the left of the window below your existing playlists. This will create a new playlist of the same name, but it will be empty.
  • Highlight all the songs in the playlist in MusicBee (Ctrl+ A) and drag them to the playlist in iTunes.

To copy from iTunes to MusicBee

  • Create a new playlist in MusicBee with the same name as the playlist you want to copy.
  • Highlight all the songs in the playlist in iTunes and drag them to the new playlist in MusicBee
