Picture this: you are doing your usual stroll at the mall, then you passed by your favorite PC games store. You look around, browse their selection of games, then see the game you've been eyeing for months is now available. You hurriedly snatch it off the shelves, ready to pay for that one game you've been waiting for, but stopped at the last minute because you just have to answer one burning question: "Can my PC run this game?"
I also had that same dilemma when I wanted to install Starcraft 2 when it came out. I have the willingness to play, but I had reservations if my 2 year old PC can still handle a graphically intense game. This is where "Can you run it?" came in.
I stumbled upon this site on a forum I was reading (some user suggested to check this site). Developed by System Requirements Labs, the webby is one of their recent products. I can't explain this even better than what they've written about it on their website, so here it is:"This site provides a One-Click solution that looks at your computer's hardware and system software to determine whether or not your current system can run a product. Each of your computer's components is evaluated to see how well it meets the minimum and recommended requirements for specific products. Recommendations are made on how to update or upgrade each component which does not meet the listed requirements. Sometimes, a simple, free software download is all that is needed. Sometimes you'll find that you need a different video card to fully experience what the game has to offer."
Basically, the first time you visit the website and type in your game query on the search box, it asks you to download and install a small program. Don't worry it's not a virus or malware. It's what the site needs to analyze your computer online.
Games are updated regularly so you can be sure you can verify that next recent game and compare it to your PC's capacity to handle it.
